VINTAGE HURET BLACK DIAL CHROME CASE 60 MPH BICYCLE BIKE SPEEDOMETER SPEEDO HEAD

Description

This is a nice used example of a black-faced 0-60 MPH Huret speedometer from March of 1972.
It has had a complete cleaning, lube, polish, wax, reset and rebuild, and is back in full working order.
The speedometer head is steel, chrome and glass, 2¼" wide across the top, 2¼" high and 1¾" deep (plus the drive cable connector)
, with a red pointer, black dial, white numbers, and dark chrome silver logo and markers. (The silver logo and trim has faded over the decades, but it's still visible in daylight.) The chrome case shows a few stray marks and flaws, but a
ll finished surfaces were polished to bring back the
shine, and waxed to keep it that way. The datestamp of "3 72" in the upper left corner of the back indicates that this was assembled in March of 1972.

The handlebar mounting bracket is the same chrome steel piece used in the Schwinn speedometer sets, and this speedo head is compatible with all the same drive cables and drive hubs found in the kits that Huret made for Schwinn. (See my other auctions for some examples.) The original mounting bracket carriage bolt and nut were missing, so I have installed new replacements.
