Synthetic Oil is the ultimate high-temperature protection in Red Line engine
oils recommended for street use and is good for engines that regularly run
very high oil temperatures. This oil is also best for engines that run large
clearances such as air-cooled engines or large-displacement, all-out racing
engines that see occasional street use. It provides 25% more viscosity in
bearings than petroleum 20W-50s. 15W50 Synthetic Oil is not recommended for
use in cold climates where temperatures are at or below 10°F or -12°C and is
not recommended for street use in production engines that see oil temperatures
below 225°F (those engines should use Red Line 10W-30 or 10W-40). Red Line
uses the most stable components available and formulates products for wear
protection and friction reduction across a wide range of engine operating
conditions. Red Line's products are unique because they contain polyol ester
base stocks, the only lubricants which can withstand the tremendous heat of
modern jet engines. These synthetics have a natural multigrade property which
allows our chemists to avoid bulking up an oil with unnecessary additive
packages. Red Line Synthetic Motor Oils are designed to provide the highest
degree of protection and cleanliness for your engine. Red Line uses the most
stable synthetic components available and formulates their products for wear
protection across a wide range of operating conditions. Red Line lubricants
contain polyol ester basestocks, the only lubricants which can withstand the
tremendous heat of modern jet engines, which makes our motor oil a necessity
to properly lubricate a turbocharger or hot-running engine. The synthetic
basestocks have a natural multigrade property, which means that large amounts
of unstable polymeric thickeners are not required to manufacture our
multigrades. Red Line Synthetic Motor Oils will provide better protection than
a petroleum oil of the next higher viscosity grade under high shear
conditions. Motor oil is made from crude oil and is used to
lubricate, clean, and cool engines. Types of motor oil include conventional,
synthetic, diesel, bio-based, hybrid (blends of conventional and synthetic),
and recycled oils. Motor oil varies in weight and viscosity, as well as
additives that some manufacturers add to the oil during the refining process.
A numerical code system created by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)
grades motor oils according to viscosity--the higher the number between 0 and
60, the more viscous (thicker) the oil is. Most consumer motor oils are graded
by two numbers, with the first number indicating cold weather (Winter or "W")
performance.SAE 15W-50 This oil has a weight of SAE 15W-50, meaning it has an
SAE viscosity rating of 15 in cold temperatures and a rating of 50 at normal
operating temperature. Always check your vehicle's owner's manual to verify
that this is the correct weight of motor oil for your vehicle.Full Synthetic
Oil This oil is a full synthetic oil, meaning crude oil is not used in making
it. Synthetic oil can be used in vehicle engines instead of motor oils refined
from crude oil, and often provides superior mechanical performance over
traditional motor oil, including increased gas mileage and reduced engine wear
at extreme temperatures. Its complex method of production means it can often
cost more than conventional motor oil.
