Description
Up for auction is this Bureau of Engraving & Printing(BEP)
Souvenir Card to commemorate the 1991 Florida United Numismatists Convention in Orlando, Florida.
The Souvenir Card features the obverse of a .00
Legal Tender, Series 1875.
This BEP Souvenir Card was stamped and postal cancelled at the Bureau Of Engraving And Printing Visitor’s Center, in Washington D.C on January 3, 1991.
The overall size of BEP Souvenir Card is 8 inches x 10 inches.
The black banknote with the ornate red overprint is printed in Intaglio, as the printing ink has a embossed raised surface, and there is evidence of a printing impression on the back of this card stock.
The title area; printed in gold, appears to be printed Offset Lithography.
The frame line that goes around most of the border was hot stamped in gold foil.
Lastly, the figure representing Freedom is not printed at all, but blind embossed along the left side of the card. The actual printing plates that were used to produce the .00 Legal Tender obverse were also used on this card.
This BEP Souvenir Card is in Mint Condition, with no creases, bends, folds or defects.
This is a great item to hang on the wall of your office or den, even a great history lesson for the kids!
